The HIStory - Embracing Destiny ...

Karen Elengikal is a published Inspirational Christian Author and Photographer from Penrith, Australia. Her background is in graphic design which has well suited her creative talents in Photo Artistry. Her articles, fictional and non-fictional stories are featured in over 15 books and magazines, and her own book, KIDZ BATTLE ZONE was released world wide in July 2007.

Spanning a 8 year period, Karen served in India as a missionary, where she met and married her husband, George, in 1993. Since then they have been blessed with six sons. Presently Karen’s family lives in Australia. George travels to India for missions trips each year for extended periods of time.

Creativity has been an inbuilt drive in Karen since she was a small child. All through her childhood she made up stories and drew pictures. Her interest in photography also started at a young age after her father gave Karen a real camera when she was about 8 years old.

When Karen first left Australian shores for the primitive Papua New Guinea in 1984, her mother bought her another camera - a better one! Now her cameras include a Nikon D70 and a Panasonic DMC Lumix FZ50, both of which bring Karen great delight as she uses these excellent cameras.

Karen says, “My absolute love for God’s creation and to capture its astonishing beauty is the passion of my heart. The stunning colours, vibrant life, fascinating variety and the exquisite details of intricate masterpieces all inspire my creative instincts. I love God’s creative genius!

I am particularly fond of using my macro lense to highlight detail that is usually not apparent to the naked eye. Whatever the scene or subject of focus, I’m always awed at the wisdom and intelligence of the Creator. His wonder and His presence is in every living thing and it is that sense of God’s wonder and His presence in His creation, that I desire for all to experience in my PhotoArt.

The majority of the photos features here at Godinspired Creations have been taken in and around Penrith and the Blue Mountains, as well as Canberra and Melbourne.

My heart’s desire is to see my photographs drawing attention to the Lord and being a source of blessing and inspiration all over the world."

GOD INSPIRED!

"Creativity is a driving force within my soul - His creativity. I am convinced that in the outpouring of God’s Spirit for this End Days harvest, Jesus is pouring out His creativity into the lives of His children - writers, artists, dancers, musicians, songwriters, actors - every sphere of creativity will be touched by Him, anointed powerfully for End Days expression. A holy people inspired and carried by His Spirit to create. These artistic expressions carry His presence, they carry His anointing to heal, to save, to bring deliverance. They bring into the earth reflections of Heaven, glimpses of His eternal kingdom. They carry His purpose and express His love.

Personally, I have know His tangible anointing in my own creative endeavours. From graphic designs to simple pencil drawings, I have known His power overshadow me and carry me to achieve a ‘masterpiece’ for Him.

The photos that are featured here at Godinspired Creations have frequently come about from His direct leading. Often the Lord will tell me, “Get your camera and go out into the front garden.” Once there He specifically leads me to particular flowers. Then His instructions continue, such as, “Try it from this angle!”, or, “Go now to the yellow flower in the other garden. The light is just perfect on that flower right now!”  When I come inside and download the photos, I am truly amazed. The colour, the angles, the beauty that have been captured has been stunning, captivating, very obviously an expression of His creativity. I’m humbled that He chose to use me as a vessel in displaying His incredible beauty. I often feel like a bystander gazing on His creative handiwork!

My prayer is that through my artist endeavours that you will be blessed, loved by Him, healed and even inspired in your own life to be a vessel of His life and constant creativity."

From my heart ...

"My heart's passion is to know Jesus - to really know Him. To be close enough to hear His Voice, to see His wonderful face, to know His pure heart, and for Him to reveal His love, holiness and glory. This He has promised to all who hunger and thirst after Him.

Can you hear Him calling your name? He's taking us up into His high places, into the chambers of His Presence and Glory. He's prepared the richest of delights, places in His heart where He desires for us to bask in the beauty and magnificence of His life, a beauty that is alluring and beyond compare - it's a special place just for US.

Let's run there together with Him".

INSPIRED BY GOD!

Throughout 2007 my photos were on display in an Exhibition at the Mount Hermon Art Gallery and Café in the Blue Mountains.

Before setting up the Exhibition, I prayed for God’s blessing on the Exhibition and sales. While I was praying I saw 2 large angels, powerful with huge wings and the Lord told me that they had been assigned to be in the Art Gallery while the Exhibition was running. One of their jobs was to fill the Art Gallery with a tangible presence of God that will affect those who enter. That is exactly what happened. One visitor was a man from Germany who said that he owned 5 Art Galleries in Germany and he had never sensed such a ‘presence’ in any other Art Gallery or seen such photographs!  The sales during my Exhibition exceeded those of any previous Exhibitions held at the Mt Hermon Art Gallery. PRAISE GOD!

About 4 weeks into the Exhibition we travelled to the Art Gallery (about an hours drive from our home) to put up some new photos. The grounds at Mt Hermon are picturesque so after arriving I left George and the boys in the Gallery while I went out to take photos in the gardens. After a while I returned to the Gallery and later that day we drove home. I couldn’t wait to download the photos as I knew I had captured some good ones. As I did this, Joshua (10 years old) sat with me to see the new photos too.

Suddenly Joshua started yelling and pointing at one of the photos. I clicked on it to enlarge it, then Joshua told me an incredible story – he had been looking at one of the framed photos in the Art Gallery when suddenly right before his eyes a new picture appeared. Joshua noticed the details of the photo with a raindrop on one leaf, how the leaves hung on the branch, the background colours… As he was looking at the photo in the open vision, a huge angel appeared beside Joshua and said, “Your Mum is going to take this photo soon!” Then the angel pointed out more details of the photo to Joshua which he then pointed out to me. I was soooo amazed (and got goose bumps too) as I specifically remembered taking that particular photo because I had turned away to move on, but then for no apparent reason, I turned back, saw those leaves and took the shot. The angel must have come and turned me around to get it!  The shot itself is not spectacular, but the whole experience caused me to realize just how real God’s direct inspiration and involvement is in my photography and how in every tiny detail, He is leading and guiding. The Lord is so totally awesome – it is beyond me to express it!!

This is the reason that I have chosen the above photograph as the Godinspired Creations website SITE PHOTO!
